Congratulations to our Texas Southmost College President, Dr. Jesús Roberto Rodríguez!

Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed Texas Southmost College President, Dr. Jesús Roberto Rodríguez, to the Texas School Safety Center Board. Dr. Rodríguez is one of four members recently selected ...to serve on the 17-member board, which provides state-wide guidance on school safety and security.

“It is an honor to be appointed by Governor Abbot to the Texas School Safety Center Board,” Rodríguez said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues across the state to continue to promote safe and healthy environments in our K-12 schools and institutions of higher education.”

The board meets throughout the year and reports to the governor, the Texas Legislature, the State Board of Education, and the Texas Education Agency. It also advises the Texas School Safety Center on its function, budget, and strategic planning.

After her career at Veterans Memorial Early College High School, Deisy is taking the next step and continuing her academic and athletic journey at Texas Southmost College.

Her hard work, perseverance, and commitment have opened the door to collegiate soccer, and we are excited to have her ...represent the Scorpions.

TSC students stopped by the ITEC Center Main Lobby for Slice into Summer, hosted by the Office of Student Life, to enjoy pizza, refreshments, and a warm welcome to the semester.

What are your goals for summer classes?

High school students from across the region joined TSC for career-focused summer training through the Pathways to Career Regional P-TECH Expansion initiative. 💙

From healthcare to maritime careers, students gained hands-on experience while exploring pathways to future success.

This week, TSC hosted the STARN Boot Camp, where the STARN organization welcomed 20 universities to set up tables for participating students to discover and connect with higher education recruiters! Attendees also had the chance to ask questions and gather resources through engaging presentations ...and breakout sessions. 🌟📚
