\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So far so good for coach Mario Zamora\u2019s Club Soccer team at 51ÁÔÆæ\u00a0who will enter week three of its seven-game schedule without a blemish. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n TSC walked away on top again with a 2-1 victory, improving to 2-0 on the young season…this time in front of the home crowd at Scorpion Field. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n Week two, back home in Brownsville, was a much tighter match than the blowout victory in the season opener in the Upper Valley.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n Trinity University from San Antonio came to town with a tight defensive structure that kept TSC from finding the net in the first half. The visitors\u00a0found the net first with a first-half goal via a set piece. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n \u201cWe had about three good chances to score before they did,\u201d Zamora said. \u201cDuring halftime, I talked to the guys and let them know we were doing well but we just hadn\u2019t scored. We had to be patient in the final third to make the right pass to score.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> The Scorpions learned from one half of action and came out with a dynamic attack that asked questions of\u00a0the Trinity defense. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe reacted in the second half and continued to push forward,\u201d Zamora said.\u00a0\u201cThat\u2019s how we scored our two goals.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n TSC\u2019s first goal was scored by Jean Carlo Villegas to equalize the match. The winner was tallied home by Kevin Zarrazagas\u00a0from the penalty spot. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n The first two games couldn\u2019t have been more opposite. 51ÁÔÆæ ran away with a 10-0 win on Sept 10 but had to battle more in game two. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n \u201cWe knew that every game was going to be difficult and different,\u201d Zamora said. \u201cWe\u2019ve played Trinity before; it was a good match. They are an organized team. Our returning players talked to our new players about it. We were able to overcome\u00a0the 1-0 deficit\u00a0thanks to that leadership. This is getting us ready for our next game and hopefully to the playoffs.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n Zamora complimented the atmosphere and thanked the community for coming out to support this season\u2019s version of the team. \u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n \u201cTSC staff puts on everything for the student-athletes to feel pride in the school, so the players can put on a good show for the fans,\u201d Zamora said. \u201cWe had a good crowd, a lot of families, former students, some instructors as well as members of the Board of Trustees Chair Adela Garza and Trustee Delia Saenz.
