As part of their grand introduction, TSC Scorpions head coach Mario Zamora individually recognized each member.<\/p>\n TSC Director of Athletics & Civility Dr. Armando Ponce kicked off the day\u2019s main events with a pair of friendly inter-squad soccer scrimmages featuring the men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams.<\/p>\n Both teams were fired up after finishing their respective games, demonstrating the skill and cohesion spectators can expect to see throughout the upcoming season.<\/p>\n \u201cThis season, we want to go as far as we can,\u201d said Ivan Galvan of the men\u2019s team. \u201cThe games are going to be competitive, but at the end of the day, if we work hard and are mentally and physically determined, we can make it to the playoffs.\u201d<\/p>\n The same sentiments were shared by players from the women\u2019s team, as well.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone on our team really wants to play, and more importantly, we want to win,” said Anahi Banda. “We\u2019re coming back strong from last season with a new mentality, and it will make a big difference once the season starts. \u201cOur biggest strength is our determination to take everything that we learned last season and use it to improve our performance on every level and make a name for ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to the teams’ renewed optimism, they unsurprisingly have the endless support of head coach Zamora, who has gone above and beyond to help the teams cultivate their confidence and wants to see more people showing their support this season.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have two competitive teams, both composed of valley players, from Brownsville out to Rio Grande City. They are united by one goal, and that is to put the valley on the map, so we want to invite everyone here to come out and support them in reaching that goal.\u201d<\/p>\n The season’s first game is scheduled for Friday, September 13, as the teams take on Paris JC at Scorpion Field.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n
