Erika’s brother, Michael, was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2019 and treated at MD Anderson. After seeing the vital role Respiratory Therapists played in Michael’s recovery, Erika knew this was the career path for her. She is now in her 2nd year of the Respiratory Care Science program at TSC.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“I already have a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, but I know that this degree from TSC will mean so much more,” Erika said. “The program here is more rigorous than my previous studies, and students who graduate from these programs at TSC deserve recognition for their endurance and the knowledge and skills they earn.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Erika knows that when she graduates in May, her education from TSC combined with her hands-on experience from clinicals will help her land a new role as a Respiratory Therapist back where her new passion began: MD Anderson. We are proud of Erika’s determination and future success. Her brother Michael, now 3 years in remission, must be too.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
