The Brownsville, Texas-based junior college is offering its first bachelor\u2019s degree program.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Organizational Management will prepare students for careers in numerous pathways.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\u201cThe program prepares our students to go into a variety of sectors, government, non-profit, education,\u201d said Dr. Patricia M. Blanco, the program\u2019s coordinator at an event held at the ITEC Center to celebrate the establishment of the program. \u201cIt gives them the tools that they need also, not only to take the next step in their career, but to also pursue a master\u2019s degree, if they\u2019re interested in doing so.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Coursework for the new bachelor\u2019s programs is offered year-round in traditional, hybrid and online formats.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\u201cIt is very much geared to the working adult, but traditional students fit in seamlessly because of the different offerings we have,\u201d Blanco said. \u201cSo yes, a working adult that is taking care of juggling family, and working and all of that, can still work toward their educational goals to so they are able to advance in their careers.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Students with an associate\u2019s degree can enroll in the program.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\u201cIt is affordable, and we pride ourselves on that,\u201d Blanco added. \u201cStudents will be paying the same amount they will for an associate\u2019s degree.
