Quentin J. Bogart, PhD
On December 17, 2022 Quentin Bogart passed away peacefully in Mesa Arizona.
Quentin was born in Quincy Illinois on July 16, 1930. Â His mother, Katherine Bogart, was a distinguished teacher at Fort Hays Kansas State College and his father James Walter Bogart was a banker, who passed away in 1934. Â His mother and hisgrandmother raised him. Â Quentin also had a sister, Eleanor and a half-brother, Loren.
Quentin joined the Navy, and was discharged in June of 1953. Â He served in various administrative positions in community collages located in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Kentucky. He moved his family to Austin, Texas, where he obtained his doctorate degree in 1968. Â That same year he became president of 51ÁÔÆæ in Brownsville Texas. Â In 1970, he again moved his family to Tempe Arizona, and was hired as an associate professor in the college of education at Arizona State University. Â He was the liaison for ASU to all of the community colleges in the state of Arizona. Â After his retirement, Dr. Bogart served on various boards, and was the president of the Emeritus College of ASU. Â Â He is survived by his is wife Norma of 70 years and his three sons Michael, Stephen, and Marty.
